OookWorks is THE home for everything wild camping, sleeping under a basic shelter in a remote, untamed area. Back to basics. It’s freeing, liberating, good for your soul.
We can even provide the wild camping kit for an expedition because we make most of it ourselves, and it’s available in the OookShop.
Leaving ‘civilisation’ behind and hiking into the wilds of Scotland, Snowdonia or the Lake District into the evening, pitching a tent, tarp or a simple bivi to sleep the night ‘away from it all’ is pure freedom, it’s stress-relieving and eye-opening. When you start wild camping, your life will never be the same again.
Come Wild Camping
Maybe you want to know whether wild camping is for you, perhaps you’re not sure yet.
Squatting over a small hole in the ground is usually a barrier for someone to get over! BUT little things like this shouldn’t stand in the way of adventure.
Let’s take off together to the untamed wilderness, away from everything, self-sufficient and free. Hike out, pitch, supper, sleep, breakfast.
You’ll get my online Wild Camping Workshop, help with how to pack, use of any gear you need, then lots of tuition while we’re out.
Come Hammock Camping
Personally, I don’t think you can get much better than waking up in the woods, lying in a hammock to the sound of a cuckoo or a pair of owls.
Eating supper around an open fire and sleeping in a hammock is pure heaven.
We’ll set off into the Forest of Bowland or in the Lake District to hang out.
You’ll get my online Hammock Camping Workshop, help with how to pack, use of any gear you need then lots of tuition while we’re out.
Come On Expedition
On expedition, we’ll cover some ground, get to know the area, it’s geology and wildlife. Maybe you’d like to take on Striding Edge, Sharp Edge or Jack’s Rake before we settle down for the night.
Two nights in the wilderness is the perfect getaway for anyone.
Maybe you’d like a night in the tent and one in the hammock, or cave, or on a summit, or on a cliff top?

Think about why you’re here on this website. Maybe you’re here to learn some stuff, that’s fine. I have nearly 30 years of experience wild camping, and I’m happy to pass on my knowledge and share my experiences with you. I hope you benefit from reading my blogs; a comment might be nice.
